MODEL 1 is a performance tool that provides new creative possibilities for artists and enables them to play in a different way.
A mixer with uncompromising build quality, intuitive tactile controls and beautifully warm analogue circuitry, the MODEL 1 was designed by Andy Rigby-Jones and in collaboration with Richie Hawtin, with two years of testing, insight and refinement with artists, clubs and engineers from across the electronic music community.
MODEL 1 has a unique offering of six fully functional input channels plus two stereo connections in a small format frame. It has many features not currently available in any comparable unit, such as input preamp drive control, hybrid filter/rollable bell EQ, dual cue system, dual mixer connection system and a fully balanced Tascam DB25 connector system.
The MODEL 1 is a pure analog mixer with technology commonly found in the best studio consoles, such as a fully balanced mix bus, zero-crossing detection for seamless filter routing, and the main EQ on high-voltage differential power buses.
MODEL 1 is for artists who seek to unlock and expand their own innate creativity.

2 stereo sends
The two AUX controls send the channel signal to the Aux mix outputs for use with external effects processors or, in some applications, for local monitors. AUX 1 offers PRE or POST FADE, while AUX 2 is internally set to post fader.
2 stereo returns
Two main stereo channels for use as return inputs from external effects processors or other sources. Each return features a TRIM for adjusting the return signal, an input DRIVE loop, and CUE routing to Cue A and Cue B. Each return also features Metering for visual signal level feedback, a rotary LEVEL fader for adjusting the Mix amount, and combined Return 1-2 Low Cut EQ and Master Filter routing.
3 high performance phono amplifiers
3 high-performance turntable inputs optimized for club environments to minimize tonal imbalance between vinyl and digital audio and eliminate sub-frequency feedback. Each phono input has its own individual turntable connection input for greater flexibility.
Studio faders
Custom 60mm TKD faders. These dual-rail faders are carefully selected to ensure long life and smooth operation, and feature a heavy feel for greater precision.
Precision equalizer for sculpting
SCULPT is a semi-parametric variable bell filter and consists of two controls: FREQ, which sets the center frequency, and CUT/BOOST, which adjusts the boost or cut of that frequency. The clipping/boost level is asymmetrical; maximum gain is limited to +8 dB, while clipping is extended to -20 dB. The Sculpt has a wide Q and a frequency range that covers nearly seven octaves.
Contour low-pass and high-pass filters
As the name suggests, these two controls allow you to "contour" the frequency range of the audio signal. They consist of low-Q, high-pass and low-pass filters designed not to add color to the sound as they move through their frequency range.
Analog overdrive
A unique function of each input - the DRIVE control. This control allows the user to adjust the level at which the channel preamp cuts the input signal, thereby creating harmonic distortion as a creative effect.
DualCue
Two independent Cue systems - A and B. Cue A is routed to the right side headphone monitor and Cue B to the left headphone monitor. The DualCue system makes it much easier for two DJs to perform together on the mixer in "Back2Back" setups, as each can select a separate monitor channel without interfering with the other. This feature also helps DJs to stream to each other in a smooth and natural way.
Connection with the mixer
A system that allows multiple mixers to be connected to be used with two or more performers or as a way to expand the number of channels. When connected together, the mixers share a common balanced mix that feeds the sound system and booth monitors. In addition, the two replica systems merge, allowing for interactive submission of replicas between multiple performers.
Balanced mix bus
Fully balanced main mixing bus (usually only found in very high-end analog studio consoles) - resulting in >110dB dynamic range, improved noise rejection, lower noise and crossover.
Main high-pass and low-pass resonant filters
The main filter consists of a high pass filter (HPF), a low pass filter (LPF) and a resonance control (RES) to adjust the sharpness of the high pass filter. The master filter can be used as a variable frequency performance effect or as a preset frequency mixer to instantly cut the low or high frequencies of any channel routed to the filter. Signals can be routed to MF via the filter selector switch located on each channel.
Three-band master equalizer
Three-band master EQ with asymmetrical cut and gain, -20/+6 dB, which can be used as a performance effect as well as a frequency correction tool.
