OMNITRONIC XO-230 Active Crossover is a professional analog active crossover for dividing the audio signal into frequency ranges, with a 2-channel stereo or 3-channel mono mode and Linkwitz-Riley filters with 24 dB/oct.
The XO-230 can operate as a 2-way stereo crossover for separating low and high frequencies or as a 3-way mono system with Low, Mid, and High outputs. This makes it suitable for sound systems with separate amplifiers for the different frequency ranges.
The crossover frequency can be continuously adjusted from 45 Hz to 9.6 kHz. The x10 switch selects between the low and high adjustment ranges. The filters are Linkwitz-Riley with a slope of 24 dB/oct.
The built-in 40 Hz Butterworth high-pass filter with 12 dB/oct helps protect subwoofers from excessively low frequencies. Each output features a phase inversion switch, making it easier to properly match subwoofers and satellites.
The XO-230 uses balanced XLR inputs and outputs and offers individual level adjustment for each frequency range. The maximum input level is +22 dBu, while the maximum output level is above +21 dBu.
The OMNITRONIC XO-230 is suitable for professional PA systems, clubs, stages, installations, rehearsal rooms, and studios where precise signal separation between subwoofers, midrange, and high frequencies is required.
Can the XO-230 control a 2-way stereo system?
Yes. In Stereo mode, it separates the signal into Low and High for the left and right channels.
Can it be used for 3-way sound reinforcement?
Yes. Mono mode allows the signal to be separated into Low, Mid, and High.
Is there protection for the subwoofer?
Yes. The Low Cut filter removes frequencies below 40 Hz with a slope of 12 dB/oct.
Is it suitable for a 19" rack?
Yes. The housing is 1U high and designed for standard 19" rack mounting.
